Buddhas of Bamyan - maybe there is another one

There is possibly no other valley in West Asia that is so loaded with expectation as Bamiyan. And it carries the load so deceptively well. After the highly staged-managed dynamiting of the two 1500-year old buddhas by the Taliban in 2001 they seem to have gained a new life - and then slipped back into obscurity. And, there may be another buddha. Afghans are excavating in between where the standing buddhas were for a reclining buddha. Read more in my article ....
