Meandering Tasmania's Tarkine
Six days in a North West Tasmanian rainforest, on wild beaches, motoring down the Pieman River (named after famous pastry chef, Marcus Clark, otherwise known as a long-term jail bird), was an introduction to the state's latest environment stoush, but mostly to wonderment at wild places. Mind you, I've heard of people who go home after a day because they can't stand the silence, the lack of urban drama. Thanks to Tarkine Trails who have eco-sustainability writ all over their eco-business. More thoughts later.
